ST NEOTS Town crashed to their third home defeat of the season after Yaxley scored twice in the last 10 minutes. Saints enjoyed most of the first half possession and chances, but it was the visitors who made the breakthrough a minute before the interval. Liam Harrold found goalkeeper Lee Crockett off his line and left him helpless with a sublime 30 yard lob. The hosts battled back after the break, and Chris Johnson hit the bar after 63 minutes. Two minutes later he had better luck, slotting home the equaliser after good work from strike partner Jamie Steele. The visitors took the lead again after 80 minutes when substitute Dominic Henson crossed for Richard Challinor to score with a diving header. The win was confirmed three minutes from time when the visitors Harrold dodged two tackles and passed for Dan Jacobs to fire home from a narrow angle and complete the double over St Neots, who they beat 2-0 in November. The defeat was the second under caretaker management duo Grant Ager and Mel Hancock, who are running the team until a new manager is appointed after Marvin Johnson was sacked on March 4. St Neots are currently 17th in the league table, 17 points clear of the relegation battle but 35 points adrift of the leaders with 11 games remaining. They next play Long Buckby in the league on Saturday as they look to improve their dismal away record that has seen them win just one of 14 games away from Rowley Park this season.
