Martin will face Ibrar Riaz at York Hall in Bethnal Green on the undercard of Nathan Grahams southern area light middleweight title defence against Freddie Turner. Martins opponent, a 28-year-old fighter from Blackburn, is very experienced, but has only won four of his 52 bouts. Hopefully this will be my last four rounder, said Martin. Ive been asking for more than six from Johnny [Eames, his promoter) but as he says, I am only 19 and hes putting the reins on me a bit. Thats not a problem as Im just getting out there and boxing. Martin was in stunning form when he beat Kristian Laight in July in front of a packed York Hall and a large contingent of his Team Gun supporters. It is expected that fans of Tommy Da Gun Martin will again make the trip to East London to back up the former St Ives ABC fighter. He said: I cant wait. Im really enjoying training at the minute with my new coach Barry Smith and Johnny. Its nice to shake things up a bit, get stuck in with Barry and look at a different way of fighting. Weve been improving, as shown in the last fight, thats why I think were going off in the same way this time. It was a big improvement the last fight and we havent been out of the gym since then Im learning every day and loving it. I dont really know anything about my opponent; to be honest I never look into opponents because I trust my manager, Im happy just to wait and see on the night. Tickets for the fight are priced at £35 for standard seating and £60 for a ringside view. They are available from Martins coach Sheridan Dyer on 07718 783875.
