ST IVES got an away point on Tuesday (November 25) after drawing 1-1 with Stewarts & Lloyds Corby. Will Fordham's 64th minute penalty put the Saints in the lead, but the home side equalised 15 minutes from time. After their 4-0 Hunts Senior Cup victory over local Needingworth United, St Ives were high in confidence but lacking Liam Kennett, Dan Moyes, Dan Pilsworth and Ricky Dear from the squad. Jez Hall's men started the stronger side, forcing several good saves from goalkeeper Labin and winning a seventh minute free kick, which Fordham smashed into the post. Jamie Blackwell then headed at the keeper before Corby countered, with Saints Jason King clearing a Michael Byrne off the line, before the home side hit the upright. One minute after the restart Scott Fielding raced through the home defence and narrowly missed after beating the keeper. Just after the hour mark, Fielding was felled inside the penalty area and Fordham stepped up to covert the spot-kick to put the Westward Road team1-0 up. The lead did not last long, as 15 minutes from time Dominic Johnson levelled after Saints keeper Robin MacKney punched the ball clear from a corner.
