ALCONBURY'S Peterborough Premier hopes took a dent when they fell to a 4-1 defeat at home to title rivals Whittlesey United. Ramsey will also feel an opportunity was missed as they took a point from a 1-1 draw at Uppingham Town. Ramsey A suffered a 4-1 defeat to Alconbury Reserves, who now go clear at the top of the table. Warboys are showing steady signs of improvement, and claimed a point in a 3-3 draw with mid-table Long Sutton. Sawtry's charge for the title continued in Division two when they visited Hampton, and ran amok to return home with a 5-1 win under their belts. Sawtry Reserves and Warboys Reserves managed to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Comb 3. Eaton Socon produced a disappointing performance when they entertained Lakenheath, falling to a 3-0 defeat to the Suffolk side, while Needingworth lost 4-0 at Over in the same league. Hemingfords United moved into fourth spot in Kershaw A following a 2-0 win against Cherry Hinton, with Karl Tomkinson and Adam Cray bagging the goals. The Reserves fared less well in taking a 5-2 beating at the hands of Longstanton, and the A team were very much second-best when Little Downham produced a big win to win 6-1. Fenstanton were in cruise control against Littleport Reserves as first-half goals from Craig Flavell, Dan Berrill and an own goal put them in charge. George Clarke and Chris Collett scored early in the second half to see the points safe. Fenstanton Reserves matched their first team by winning 6-2 at Tydd United. Brampton celebrated a 4-0 cup win over neighbours Great Paxton, as Darren Rogers and Stuart Harris hit a double apiece. There was more grief for Bluntisham Rangers as they shipped four more goals, eventually losing 4-1 at the hands of Outwell Swifts.
