PETERBOROUGH'S FA Cup dream was brought to an end last night after they lost 2-0 to West Bromwich Albion at London Road.

Jay Simpson, on loan from Arsenal, opened the scoring after 18 minutes with a 20 yard drive and Paul Robinson doubled the lead after the Posh failed to clear a free-kick.

Charlie Lee chipped just wide for the hosts but West Brom dominated the game and held on for a comfortable victory to face Burnley at home in the next round.

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson said: "We could be playing them in the Championship next season but after tonight we are well short.
