Andy Davies side - decimated by four suspensions - picked up a valuable point in their quest for Southern League Premier Division survival. They drew 1-1 at Frome on a day when new defensive recruit Chevron Mclean and teenage scholar Jack Eldridge were handed debuts. Saints hit the front eight minutes into the second half through Declan Rogers 11th goal of the season. It was an effort which enabled him to join fellow frontman James Hall at the top of the clubs scoring charts. Hosts Frome levelled later in the second period but Saints chief Davies was delighted to make the long trip home in possession of a point. Boss Davies said: We produced a solid first-half performance with a skeleton side. We stuck to our guns of playing composed and attacking football, but we then had our backs to the wall for a lot of the second half. That was understandable, but we stood strong to come away with a good draw and we could have nicked a win. Chevron slotted in really well and young Jack had a great senior debut for us. The draw leaves Saints two points above the bottom four ahead of a difficult spell with several players facing bans over the coming games following a stormy exit from the FA Trophy against Marine. They go to Aylesbury this Tuesday for a League Challenge Cup second round tie, but dont have another league game until visiting Kings Lynn on November 29.
