Saints are guaranteed to finish in the top half of the Southern League Premier Division table after a 1-1 draw at high-flying Kings Lynn last Saturday in their penultimate outing of the campaign. And Clements is determined to keep the vast majority of his progressive side together for next term when they will aim to kick on further. He said: We have the potential to end the season on 67 points which is almost 20 more than we managed last season. We know that we have allowed another dozen to slip away as well, but it has been a season of huge progress from a squad that is still developing. Weve given ourselves a terrific platform that we can look to build on next season. Last summer we had to put a whole new squad together, but thats certainly not the case ahead of next season. Were talking about evolution rather than revolution. In an ideal world well be looking to bring in three or four players as we already have the nucleus of an excellent group. Weve already had some very positive conversations with existing players who want to continue to be part of our project, and weve also drawn up some potential targets. Saints complete the league season with a home clash against relegation battlers Gosport Borough this Saturday. The Hampshire side are still fighting with Dunstable to avoid finishing bottom and being the only team to suffer the drop. Clements is well aware of the potential importance of tomorrows fixture for Saints opponents, but he will also have one eye on his clubs silverware mission in the Hunts Senior Cup final on Wednesday (May 2). Saints host neighbours Eynesbury Rovers in a repeat of last seasons county showpiece, which they lost 1-0. We have to be honest and admit that the Hunts Senior Cup final is the most important of our two remaining games, added Clements. But that does not mean we will be taking Saturday lightly. Of course we need to look after our squad if we can, but any lads involved against Gosport will be doing everything they can to impress and earn a place in the team for the cup final.
