The 22-year-old has been in stunning form in recent games to fire Saints out of the bottom four.

The December capture from Stamford has hit hat-tricks in valuable home successes against Chesham and Kings Langley in the past couple of weeks.

He has actually struck eight times in his last three games with the two trebles sandwiching a brace in a defeat at bottom side Cinderford.

“It’s going well at the minute and I’m delighted to be scoring goals,” said Luton-based Brown, who has struck 11 times in 10 appearances for St Neots in all.

“If I’m being honest, I’ve never really been a prolific goalscorer – I’m usually the player getting the assists.

“But finding the net eight times in three games is really pleasing, and the system we’re playing is suiting me well.

“All four of our offensive players have a lot of freedom and it’s just a case of finding myself in the right positions at the right times.

“Scoring so many goals is giving me more confidence and hopefully it can continue.

“I’m certain we have enough quality in the squad to stay up. Apart from the loss at Cinderford, we’ve been doing well against teams in all parts of the table.

“Nine points from 12 in our last four games is a good return and it’s just a shame we didn’t have our heads on at Cinderford.

“But we’ve got a lot of massive games to come and hopefully we can get another result this Saturday at Leamington to put ourselves in a better position.”

Manager Matt Clements has been thrilled by the contribution of Brown, who arrived a few days before his own appointment as Saints boss.

Clements said: “Jevani is absolutely ruthless in front of goal and he definitely deserves the plaudits.

“But he’ll be the first to admit that we are building a team mentality here in which every player has an important job to do.”
