Godmanchester Rovers reeled off a fifth successive victory when triumphing 1-0 at Ipswich Wanderers in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division.

Frontman Ben Yeomans grabbed the only goal - just as he did in an FA Vase victory against Raunds the previous weekend.

Recent signing Matty Allan was denied a first Rovers goal by the woodwork, but Yeomans' effort proved enough to continue a fine run.

Eynesbury were left to rue a catalogue of missed chances when being held to a United Counties League Premier Division draw yesterday.

Rovers had to settle for a point in a 1-1 deadlock at Rothwell Corinthians after seeing Steven Gentle's opener cancelled out.

The big defender broke the deadlock in stoppage time at the end of a first half his side dominated when converting a low Jordan Brown cross.

Before then Tom Coles headed against the bar, Declan Rogers was denied by a fine save and leading scorer Dom Lawless went close on several occasions.

Gentle almost doubled the lead just before the hour, but it was the home side who found the net to level with 17 minutes to go.

But for a late goal-line clearance from James Ducket, Corinthians could have snatched victory.

Huntingdon Town survived a second-half scare at the hands of 10 men to triumph 3-2 at Harrowby United in Division One.

Richard Baines headed Town into a fifth-minute lead and their task was made easier by a red card for the hosts just after the half-hour.

Chae Simons doubled the advantage five minutes before the break and struck again nine minutes into the second half.

Harrowby hit back with two goals in the space of five minutes to set up a tense closing quarter-of-an-hour, but Town held on for three points.
