STEFAN Moore is ready to score the goals that will fire St Neots Town to promotion this season and next. Thats the promise made by the Saints record signing after he put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal at the Hunts Post Community Stadium. Former Aston Villa striker Moore, 27, arrived for an undisclosed five-figure fee from Zamaretto Premier side Halesowen Town on Thursday, and promptly made his mark with four goals in an 11-0 FA Vase win over Felixstowe and Walton on Saturday. I expect to score a lot of goals at this football club, and I expect us to go on and win the league, said Moore. Ive set myself a goal target for the season which I will keep to myself, but put it this way: it wont be low. After finding out Moore was available, club owner Mike Kearns and chairman John Delaney moved quickly to convince Moore of St Neots Towns ambition. Moore added: I believe in the project that the owners have for the club. I have a very good feeling about the whole set-up. This club has fantastic facilities. Its set up like a professional club, and should be playing at a higher level. Moore turned down the chance to return to full-time football after setting up his own business six months ago, and reassured fans that he would be at the club for the long haul. Ive not just come here to score some quick goals and move on. I know that my future is now in the non-league game, so I want a project that I can be a part of, and I want to be at a club that is going places. Moores new boss Dennis Greene said the frontman would be a crucial part of the Saints promotion bid. His calmness and composure is going to be vital in the big games. Chairman Delaney agreed: This is the man who will score the goals that get us up. Weve been looking for a marquee signing for a while, and now we finally have one of the highest quality. This is probably the most audacious and biggest transfer deal in the whole of non-league football this season.
