Marheineke has overseen a radical overhaul of the Saints squad following a difficult 2017\/18 campaign in which they would ordinarily have been relegated. A restructure of the non-league system ensured they remained at Step 3 despite finishing third-bottom. Were very pleased with the players weve already been able to bring in, said Marheineke, who completed the capture of former Kettering Town and AFC Kempston Rovers midfielder Munashe Sundire late last week. The squad has come together well and were just looking to add a couple more attacking options before the season starts on August 11. Saints have only won once so far in pre-season and suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of former assistant boss Jack Cassidys Bedford Town side last weekend. They host former tenants Cambridge City this Saturday in their final pre-season friendly. The club are offering free entry to the game which falls during their beer and music festival at ProEdge Westwood Road. There is also live music on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Marheineke added: Weve looked good for long periods in all games. Were very organised defensively, but were lacking a little cohesion when attacking. Thats to be expected due to so many new signings so its not a concern.
