STEVE Lomas has admitted that St Neots Town's high profile could have made them a target for other clubs.
Saints were held to a frustrating goalless draw at home to Yaxley on Saturday, which came on the back of an away defeat at Newport Pagnell in mid-week.
"I think that maybe everyone out there expects us to win the league, and for that reason they raise their game against us. But it's not about the manager, it's about the players - when you start thinking it's about the manager then you are in trouble," said Lomas.
"We've had a couple of very frustrating results recently, but we have to learn to deal with that. I'm certainly a lot happier with the team and the squad this season, but we are looking to add a couple of players."
Saints had numerous chances to win the game against Yaxley, but were frustrated time and again by the visitors. Lee Bassett hit the post, and blocked a goal-bound header from Liam Harrold, while Parys Okai also passed up opportunities.
"It's definitely a case of two points dropped for us - that's the resounding thing to take from the game. But the positive thing is that we are creating chances," said Lomas.
Lomas said the club had written to the FA about decisions made in last week's 2-1 defeat at Newport Pagnell, when the home side's second goal was ruled out and then awarded again. Minutes later a foul on Liam Harrold yielded a free kick outside the box when St Neots believed it should have been a penalty.
"We just want to highlight a few issues that we are not very happy with. Referees have a hard job but it will be up to the FA to make a decision."
Saints are back on FA Cup duty this weekend when they take on Mildenhall, and Lomas is confident his players can get back to winning ways.
"I know the lads won't need picking up for this weekend - they are playing in the oldest cup competition in the world, so if they can't get motivated for that then something's wrong.
