Lea Jordans side thrashed Farcet United in the last four of the Peterborough & District Leagues Intermediate Shield last Saturday. But it has since come to light they fielded an ineligible player in the double-figures destruction of lower-level opposition. New signing Adam Rothery made his debut in that game and had not played in a previous league game as required by the rules. Its a situation which has left boss Jordan gutted. He said: Its a massive shame for the boys that they wont get to play in the final. Its also very frustrating for everyone involved, but rules are rules and we have to respect the decision of the league. Its just a shame the game cant be replayed. Rothery scored one of the Ramsey goals in the semi-final success which featured a hat-trick from leading scorer Jamie Darlow. Ramsey do have the consolation of already being through to one cup final (the Hunts Junior Cup) and could yet reach another (the Peterborough Football Association Challenge Cup). Theyre also chasing the Division Two title in the Peterborough & District League and have won 15 successive matches in all competitions.
