Local lady Emily Ingle has been named as the manager of the new St Neots Town female side.
The Saints team will compete in the Cambridgeshire Women’s League next season.
And Ingle, who has played for Cambridge United, MK Dons and Watford in the past, as well as working in the Cambridgeshire Advanced Coaching Centre, can’t wait to lead her hometown club into battle.
She said: “I am delighted to have this opportunity. St Neots Town want to provide a platform for female football to thrive in Cambridgeshire.
“The club is ambitious and has long-term goals. It also has great foundations and facilities to achieve them.”
St Neots are holding open trials on July 12 and 16 for prospective players. Further information is available at www.stneotstownfc.co.uk
The club will also operate an Under 17 team with Terry White the man in charge. He spent many years with the Hitchin Belles club and served as boss of the Bedfordshire County Schools Under 16 side last term.
The team will play fixtures against both female and male opposition during next season.
