Saints have found the net only three times in their last six Southern League Premier Division games. They drew a blank last Saturday when battling out a Premier Plus Stadium stalemate with Slough, but did represent another small step towards safety as they moved seven points clear of the drop-zone. Davies said: It is always a concern when goals are hard to come by, but it is something we work hard on in training. There is no doubt we have strikers capable of being prolific at this level, just as they have been in the past. Drew Roberts has missed virtually all of the season and it was always going to take time for him to get back into scoring mode. Lee Clarke has also missed a few games recently, but he got a very important goal against Paulton Rovers and Im confident they will start to come more regularly. Weve also put a lot of focus on the way we build up the play and having two natural wideman available, with Remy Gordon back fit again, will be a big plus on that front. Im a great believer in a 4-4-2 system and it suits us well barring one or two positions. St Neots face a 325-mile round-trip today (Wednesday) for a visit to a Frome side who sit one place above the relegation zone and four points behind Saints. The two teams then meet again at at the Premier Plus Stadium in 10 days time with St Neots having a tough trip to promotion hopefuls Kettering this Saturday in between. Davies added: It certainly isnt ideal having such a long trip in midweek, especially as some of the boys will have to work half-a-day before we leave. But we are going to Frome with the aim of getting a result. Ill probably take a point, but Ill be delighted if we can nick all three. It will be a similar story against Kettering. Its another massive game for us and a tricky place to go. We may have to go a bit more direct as their pitch isnt one of the best, but that shouldnt be an issue. They have the bit between their teeth for the play-offs, but were also determined to climb the table. We wont need many points from here to be safe, but we need to concentrate on getting them as soon as we can.
