HISTON exited the FA Cup as they were knocked out in the third round 2-1 by Championship side Swansea at the Glass World Stadium. The non-leaguers had been on an impressive cup run, but they fell two goals behind to the Swans. Gorka Pintado opened the scoring after 22 minutes and Guillem Bauza doubled the visitors' advantage after 38 minutes. Pintado missed a late penalty and Josh Simpson fired home after 84 minutes to reduce to deficit and ensure a nervy few minutes for Swansea, who were knocked out at the same stage last year by non-leaguers Havant and Waterlooville. Histon manager Steve Fallon said: "It's a credit to the lads that they are disappointed to have lost to a Championship team. Now comes the hard part of picking the players up when all the publicity ends." The Swans now face Cup holders Portsmouth in the next round at Fratton Park.
