I WASNT surprised by the threat Boston posed to us on Saturday, as they came into the game in decent form and have always been one of the better UCL sides. It was one of the fixtures wed targeted. I was confident once we equalised that, if anyone was going to win, it was going to be us and we were never going to lose the game. But as the minutes ticked by and for every one of our shots or attempts that was blocked or saved, I feared we were heading for a draw. Every game is tough now because everyone is feeling the pressure - the players, the supporters. Its tight up the top and hard work. Our next three games are vital and, if we manage to pick up maximum points, then we could be within touching distance. Outside of us, Kings Lynn have now got what I class as their toughest three league fixtures all away from home Stewarts & Lloyds tonight (Tuesday), Newport Pagnell on Saturday and then Wellingborough on Tuesday. They will have to re-group quickly after the euphoria of getting through their FA Vase quarter-final 3-1 against Rye United after extra-time and could drop points somewhere but, saying that, well take care of our own job first. Theres been some movement in and out over the past week. Roy going leaves us with only two strikers in Shane Tolley and Stefan Moore, but I feel were covered there as Dan Jacob can also play through the middle if need be should one get injured and Kieron Davies can cover out wide. And weve brought in Ian Gayle who can operate at either centre-half or right-back. I went and watched Dagenham and Millwall Reserves last week to look at a striker. Although I felt the forward wouldnt fit into the way we played, Ian stuck out like sore thumb. Bringing him in also balances the squad up a bit as weve been hit by a few injures defensively in the last week or two and, should we lose Mike Hyem or Theo Davis to injury, wed have been a bit short at full-back. Of the centre-halves, Dallas Moore and Will Fordham have been carrying injuries and Glen Fuff is going to miss three or four weeks due to the head injury he sustained against Eaton Socon.
