Ollie Drakes men claimed a 1-0 success at Haverhill Rovers in their first away outing following up a 5-0 drubbing of Wroxham last Saturday in the process. The only goal arrived on the stroke of half-time as Buster Harradine struck for the second time in as many matches. Only a stunning save from Godmanchester goalkeeper Niall Conroy early in the second half preserved their advantage before Matty Allan was frequently thwarted in his attempts to provide them with a second goal. He was denied by a fine defensive block on one occasion, saw a header kept out by a fine save and then hit the bar, but Harradines strike proved enough to earn the points. It was also a good Tuesday night for Eynesbury Rovers as they claimed a first win of the United Counties League Premier Division campaign. They survived the late dismissal of goalkeeper Aaron Butcher to beat Rothwell Corinthians 2-1 at Hall Road. Eynesbury took command with two goals in the final eight minutes of the first half. James Tricks pounced for the opener after a Danny Draper shot had been pushed out, and Draper then doubled the lead himself in similar fashion after a Jamal McKenzie effort was parried into his path. McKenzie twice spurned good opportunities to extend the lead in the second half before Corinthians halved their deficit with 20 minutes to go. But they rarely looked like levelling on a night when Eynesbury finished with 10 men after Butcher saw red in the seventh minute of stoppage time. The goalkeeper was dismissed for dangerous play after racing from his area to make a challenge. McKenzie took over in goal for the closing seconds and watched a final Rothwell effort fly wide as Rovers followed up a Saturday draw against Desborough with three points.
