The main man in county football is leaving his post next year.

Hunts FA secretary Mark Frost will retire in April, 2018 - the month in which he celebrates his 65th birthday.

Frost has held the position since 2004 after previously spending 12 years as executive officer of the Middlesex FA. He first represented that county in 1985.

Frost said: "I have given notice to the Huntingdonshire FA board and council that it is my intention to retire at the end of April next year.

"Having been a player and referee, and then involved in the administration of football since 1974, you could say the game has been my life."

Frost will continue to serve as Hunts' FA representative - a role he has held since 2005 - until the end of his existing term in 2020. He'll also continue as a council member for Hunts.

Frost expects his position to be advertised in the autumn with the appointment of his successor likely to be made before the end of the year.
