UCL Division One Buckingham Town 4 Eynesbury Rovers 2 AL LENIHAN'S honeymoon period as Eynesbury manager came to an abrupt halt as his team suffered their first defeat under his stewardship. Eynesbury had won their last three league outings and went into the game in confident mood with the knowledge that the Robins had not taken maximum points since last October. Buckingham came out of the blocks quickly and Reuben Max-Grant slotted home to give them a third-minute lead as his header sailed past the stranded Danny Workman. Further pressure by the home side resulted in their lead being extended on the half-hour when Nick Bines found room to cross and more by luck than judgement the ball found its way into the back of the net via the post. Things went from bad to worse as the Rovers defence allowed Keith Newby to make it three. Rovers finally seem to have found a way back into the match when they were awarded a penalty minutes before the break when Ian Dawkes was felled. Jamie Graham made no mistake from the spot. Any real hopes for the visitors evaporated on 55 minutes when the home side broke away and Joel McCormick, their leading scorer, added to his tally to give the Robins an unassailable lead. It took until the 80th minute for Rovers to get their second when Graham scored his second from a free kick. * Eynesbury host Whitworths on Saturday.
