Martin Field has stepped down as manager of Eynesbury Rovers.
Field notified club chiefs of his decision ahead of their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Newport Pagnell last night.
He departs with Rovers in the bottom six of the United Counties League Premier Division standings.
Field spent three full seasons at the Hall Road helm in joint charge with Matt Plumb. They led the club to promotion from Division One in the 2013/14 campaign.
Field has been in sole charge this season after Plumb took on the role of chairman during the summer.
Plumb said: “Martin called me at approximately 5.30pm yesterday to say he would not be continuing as manager.
“It is a shame to lose someone who has done some terrific things for the club including helping us get back into the Premier Division.”
Coach Paul Reynolds and Under 21 boss Mark Inskip took the team for the Pagnell game. Reynolds is again expected to be in charge when Rovers go to unbeaten leaders Leicester Nirvana this Saturday.
Plumb has no intention of returning to the dugout and added: “We need to make a decision, sooner rather than later, on where we go from here.”
