EYNESBURY Rovers suffered heartbreak when a last-gasp penalty from the home side denied them all three points.
Eynesbury had led through Ian Fovargue's 27th-minute goal but Jamie Cole snatched a point for the hosts after a foul inside the penalty area.
Despite the disappointment, Eynesbury manager Al Lenihan had few complaints: "We should regard it as a point won," he said. "It looked like the defence had won all three against some tremendous pressure by Kempston and seven minutes seemed a lot of added time, but those are the breaks."
Eynesbury started brightly and had the first chance of the game but Jamie Graham's shot was straight at former Hall Road man Andrew Wale in the Kempston goal.
The Walnut Boys then began to dominate the game with Josh Bamford having a run and shot at goal which went wide whilst Stacey Field's shot was saved easily by Dave Beeny.
Mark Bunker beat two men on the right before he drove the ball across the six yard box only for Field to miss the ball by inches.
The visitors took the lead against the run of play. Fovargue ran through the centre of the Kempston defence, rounded the goalkeeper and coolly slotted the ball home to record his first goal for the club. Beeny was then again called into action when he had to get down low to keep out a Danny Watson shot as Eynesbury held onto their advantage just before the break.
In the second half Kempston came close on a number of occasions and Eynesbury had Beeny to thank for keeping them in front.
At the other end Wale had saved an early Graham shot and he also denied Brett Bellamy five minutes into stoppage time but two minutes later Cole snatched the point for the hosts with a well-placed penalty.
Eynesbury go to Peterborough Northern Star on Saturday.
