MATT Plumb's new-look Rovers sent out an early season warning to the UCL First Division with a five-goal drubbing of ON Chenecks.
Ben Cole stole the show with a four-goal blitz, but Plumb was quick to praise the team effort that had got the club off and running in the league, in particular the way the squad had gelled.
"I'm very pleased with the match and we had great performances throughout the team. But I still think there's more to come. What really helped on Saturday was the crowd - they got behind the team and helped us to settle."
The opening day crowd of 114 was the best seen at Hall Road since Boxing Day 2005 and they were treated to a glut of goals.
Eynesbury thought they had taken the lead when Barry Albone netted on 10 minutes, only to see the strike ruled out for off side.
Rovers were awarded a penalty when Joe Jordan was felled on 17 minutes, and Cole bagged his first from the spot. Two minutes later Albone made it two from close range.
Adam Boothby twice went close, but it was Cole who made it three on 36 minutes with a shot from 18 yards.
Stefan Gallucci in the Rovers goal was kept busy, and he denied Chenecks striker Jamie Nuttall early in the second half.
Cole completed his hat-trick on the hour but it wasn't until the final two minutes that the scoring was completed.
Elliott Muddiman pulled a goal back for the visitors before Cole netted his fourth, and Rovers' fifth, deep in added time.
Rovers host Bugbrooke on Saturday at Hall Road. Kick off 3pm.
