Duckets men extended their unbeaten United Counties League Premier Division run to 12 games with a smooth 2-0 success at fellow top-six side Deeping Rangers last Saturday. Their sixth successive victory left them only seven points off second spot as their meteoric rise from the doldrums shows no signs of stopping. Ducket said: For my first job in management to start so well is a dream. I feel like Im in Disneyland right now! Much of the credit must go to a great bunch of players. I couldnt have asked for a better group to work with. Theyve reacted on the few occasions I have had to get stuck into them, but most of the time they have made my job easy by playing so well. Their attitude is second to none and it is great to see them enjoying their football so much. That has been a big factor in the great run of results. Im delighted to have got them playing with smiles on their faces. We will continue to take each game as it comes and try to keep the run going. I honestly dont see us losing as Im yet to come across a team who have been better than my own side. If we do slip up, it will more than likely be down to ill-discipline or mistakes on our part. Debutant Daril Ngwala hit a goal-of-the-season contender to set Eynesbury on the way to victory at Deeping although the former Bedford Town wideman had to depart with a tight hamstring moments later. But it didnt upset Rovers rhythm as Tom Coles sealed the points in the second period when Alex Marsh and Matty Bannister, who returned from a four-week holiday in Australia, missed good chances to extend the advantage. Rovers were actually beaten last night (Thursday) although the team pipped 3-2 on penalties by Stotfold in a Hinchingbrooke Cup second-round clash contained only four first-team regulars. Owen Dixon and Alex Marsh found the net for Eynesbury in a 2-2 deadlock before they were edged out in the shoot-out. They will return to full-strength when bidding to extend their unbeaten league run against Sleaford at Hall Road tomorrow. They entertain AFC Kempston Rovers on Tuesday in the UCL KO Cup.
