The thoughts of the St Neots Town manager after Saturday’s 2-1 UCL League Cup quarter-final home win over King’s Lynn

I THOUGHT it was a decent game considering both teams made a lot of changes.

Full credit to the players who were on the pitch, as they gave it their all and still made it a tidy game.

It was also pleasing from both our points of view that we came through it with no injuries and I'm sure Setch (Gary Setchell), like myself, is just pleased to have got this fixture out of the way.

If you look at the team that finished the game for us, probably only four of them will be involved for the midweek game.

And that'll be the same for King's Lynn as well so, like I say, to have thrown a team together like that - there was still a lot of quality in the game - so I was really pleased in that sense.

We're in fine fettle injury wise and looking forward to the upcoming fixtures. Every league game we win now takes us three points closer to our target of winning the league.

The game at Peterborough Northern Star tomorrow night and then at Stewarts & Lloyds next Tuesday are tough fixtures for us and ones that King's Lynn will be looking at and hoping we'll drop points in.

But, if we play the way we know we can, we believe we can beat anybody on our day. If we keep playing like we have been, then hopefully we'll get the wins that we need.

Stefan Moore's three-match ban starts from the S&L game next week but, now we're past King's Lynn in the League Cup, the semi-final at St Ives is likely to be one of the game he sits out.

So hopefully he'll only miss two league matches – which is pleasing for us – and we've just got to get through the games without him.
