FROM our point of view, the game went really well. It was a reasonably competitive affair and for us to score three goals against a first-class Championship side like Peterborough was very pleasing. They were strong and organised for the full 90 minutes and pressed the ball really well. But what really pleased me was that, when we got the ball, we kept it, passed it well and kept finding the spaces. A lot of that was down Junior Konadu and, when he gets the ball, it doesnt matter if theres one or two around you, hell find the space to move the ball back into the pockets. He kept setting us away all afternoon, kept hold the ball and, without him in the team, it would have been a lot more difficult. Juniors a very useful player for us and were lucky to have him. Michael Duggan also had a great game for us in goal. He made one or two great saves and he has fitted into the group really well and really quickly. His distribution is great and, as quickly as he catches it, hes getting the ball out to the full-backs - and thats important for us. We want to try and pass it and move the ball quickly and he doesnt slow things down. As soon as he gets it, hes moving it on. His shot stopping, his decision making, his punching under pressure and his safe hands were great. A big thank you in particular goes to Darren Ferguson, Barry Fry and all the staff at Peterborough United for making this fixture happen. They showed a great deal of respect by giving up a Saturday afternoon during pre-season to come here and play us. And, hopefully, they were quite surprised with the ability that our team has got.
