UCL Division One Daventry United 5 Eynesbury Rovers 2 DEFENSIVE frailties were again at the fore as Eynesbury went down to a heavy defeat at Daventry. The scores were level at the interval but the visitors could not handle the pace of the home side's Tommy Waldock, who terrorised the Eynesbury back line. Rovers took the lead in the fifth minute when David Morbin was fouled in the area and Stuart Humphreys slotted home. Two minutes later, the hosts missed a spot-kick of their own when Alan Haynes struck the post with his effort after a foul by Luke Jones. Player-manager Dean Shipp was forced into two good saves to deny the home side grabbing an equaliser but could do nothing to prevent Jamie Moss scoring direct from a cross on 37 minutes. Humphreys forced the home goalkeeper into a save on the stroke of half-time when his shot looped up off a defender. Daventry piled on the pressure in the second half and took the lead through Waldock on 56 minutes with Neil Morris off the pitch receiving treatment. Tony Burt added two more goals and Waldock grabbed another as the home side romped into a 5-1 lead. Two minutes from the end, Kriss Watters pounced on a goalkeeping error to pull a goal back for Eynesbury but it was too late.
