UCL Division One Daventry United 2 Huntingdon Town 1 A SERIOUS knee injury to 19-year-old Ben Cottingham which saw him airlifted to hospital marred this defeat for Darren Young's men. Cottingham suffered a dislocated knee and ruptured ligaments after his studs caught in the turf and the game was held up for more than an hour until the emergency services arrived. Young said: "It was a disappointing result but it took a back-seat after we heard details of how seriously Ben was injured and we wish him well in his recovery." The home side took the lead after 25 minutes when Huntingdon failed to clear a corner and Adrian Pestell poked the ball in but Richard Moore quickly equalised from 15 yards for Young's men. The injury disrupted the game before Daventry sealed the win on 70 minutes after Michael Parkes' effort wrong-footed the Town goalkeeper. Tom Moran and Eddie Mills almost snatched a point for Huntingdon in near-darkness but it was not to be. Young said: "From a result perspective I'm convinced this is a hiccup and we look forward to the home game next week.
