Brampton Spartans Blues collected their third trophy of the season when they won the Sawtry U10s tournament on Sunday.

Spartans Blues battled through their group unbeaten, claiming six wins and a draw, and only conceding one goal in the entire tournament.

A Chris Hartley goal saw off Priory Parkside L 1-0, and a Tom Snare goal ensured the same scoreline against Netherton Blue. Hartley and Rhys Everett scored against Rushden and Higham as Blues won 2-0, and Snare and Jake Winterburn got the goals against Sawtry Red.

Sawtry Yellow held Spartans Blues to a goalless draw, before two more Winterburn goals sealed a 2-1 win against Parkside Athletic. A single from Everett secured a final 1-0 win against Alconbury.

A tense semi-final against Deaconians was only settled by Hartley's third goal of the competition, putting Blues through to the final against Whittlesey Junior Blues.

Spartans had saved their best for last, as they eased to a classy 3-0 win, thanks again to Tom Snare. He grabbed an early goal to put Spartans Blues in control, and added two more to claim a hat-trick, and win the tournament for the Blues.

Brampton Spartans Red had a tougher time in the tournament, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Benwick in their opening game, then shared a 0-0 draw with Priory M. Two goals from Martin Uy helped them to a 2-0 win over Mereside Rangers, but it was to be Reds' only victory as they went down to Deaconians, Netherton Red, Whittlesey Junior Blue and Sawtry Colts Blue.
