UCL Premier Division St Neots Town 3 Yaxley 1 ANOTHER double from Barrington Belgrave gave new managers Ivan Finch and Iain Parr a dream start against Yaxley. Finch and Parr were officially confirmed as Saints bosses on Saturday and the players responded with an impressive comeback. Yaxley had won on their last three visits to Rowley Park but Saints dominated a goalless first half and were twice denied by the woodwork - Chris Garwell both times the unlucky man. Despite their dominance, St Neots fell behind on 49 minutes when Mario Palazzo stepped inside Jon Hoggett to give keeper Jon Chatfield no chance. This proved to be the wake-up call St Neots needed and seven minutes later Belgrave followed up a shot from Ashley Deverall to get his side on terms. On the hour mark, it was Deverall who pounced on a shot from Ryan Francis that was spilled by the goalkeeper to give Saints the lead. Yaxley nearly pulled it back when a Chatfield error let them in, but Garwell was on the line to clear the ball away. Belgrave eventually sealed the victory - Saints' fifth in a row - with a well-placed flick in injury time. Parr said: "It wasn't a brilliant performance but we did what we needed." n St Neots were due to travel to Wootton as The Hunts Post went to press and they go to Godmanchester for a Hunts Senior Cup tie on Saturday.
