SIXTEEN-year-old old Brad Kendall had a remarkable result last week while on holiday at Whiteacres, near Newquay in Cornwall.
The young angler achieved his first-ever match win in a 60-peg silver fish match. Brad, who caught 57lb, won £110 and a week's holiday at Whiteacres - with a chance to qualify for their festival. He also proved that it was not a fluke when he finished seventh of 105 anglers in a rover match later in the week, with 75lb.
WITH the big money series over, the next Saturday event is the Little and Large, where anglers get points for their nets of fish under a pound and over a pound.
Several of those present failed to catch in one or other of the categories and scored lower points.
Winner on the day was Jason Roslyn, drawn on peg nine, who caught the best big fish weight and added fifth place in the small fish to win from Ricky Ashwell.
