Fifth ID Talent finals for tennis star Kira

HEMINGFORD Green Primary School pupil Kira Reuter was one of three Cambridgeshire tennis prospects put through their paces at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton last week during its Talent ID finals.

Reuter was joined by fellow Cambridgeshire 11 year olds Anna Loughlan from Bottisham and Cambridge’s Vincent Chen at the tournament which gives national coaches the chance to see the country’s up and coming stars in action.

Reuter, despite her age, is a veteran competitor however. She said: “This was my fifth Talent ID finals day. I always enjoy them.

“I’m quite competitive so enjoy the match play at the end. It’s a good time to see how you get on against the best players that are my age.”

The day was overseen by the head of talent management for the Lawn Tennis Association, Andrew Lewandowski.

He said: “Everyone performed really well and showed lots of ability across a number of different tasks designed to test athletic ability, coordination, speed and agility, as well as a real natural talent and love for the sport.

“It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic and talented players give it their all.
