Eynesbury Rovers boss Mark Ducket hailed a double strike from midfielder Tom Coles, as his side progressed to the preliminary round of the FA Cup courtesy of a 3-2 win over Thurlow Nunn outfit Thetford Town.
Coles, who scored a hat-trick in the same round last season, struck either side of half-time, before new signing Dom Lawless rounded off the scoring for Rovers.

“I played Tom Coles out of position in central midfield, both his goals were classic Coles goals from him,” said Ducket.
“He rose higher than the crossbar to head one in, and hit a thunderbolt from 25 yards giving the keeper no chance.
“When the ball is in the air, there’s nobody else I’d rather have attacking it. If we had 11 Tom Coles, we know we would win every week.”
Despite progressing past the first FA Cup hurdle for the second time in as many years, Ducket insists they must be better if they are to beat Peterborough Sports in the next round.

“There were a few individual mistakes that weren’t punished, things like pattern of play and not working hard off the ball to track back,” said Ducket.
“We need to cut out the mistakes but the most important thing is that we won the game and we’re through to the next round.”
And it’s a tie that pits Eynesbury against last year’s UCL champions Peterborough Sports.
Ducket said: “They showed how good they are last season, I honestly believe it will be the tie of the round and I will be promoting it as such.
“This competition has always been about luck of the draw, I really want to do well in it but my sole focus has to be the league this season.”
Rovers kick of their league season with a trip to Cogenhoe on Tuesday.
“I’m really looking forward to it, we beat them 7-1 last season and they’ll be out to get revenge, it should be a good game,” Ducket said.
