A former international footballer and manager has joined the coaching staff at Huntingdon Town.

Paul Crosbie, who represented and bossed the tiny Turks & Caicos islands in the Caribbean, will work alongside Town manager Bob Warby and number two Mark Forrest.

Crosbie (39) spent four years working as the technical director for Turks & Caicos FA between 2003 and 2007.

The Scotsman also has experience of the English non-league scene after managing March Town from July 2012 until February 2014, when he resigned due to work commitments.

And he is well-known to Warby and Forrest from his time at the Fenland club where they worked under Crosbie’s management.

Warby said: “Myself and Mark worked with Paul at March a few years ago, but he unfortunately had to stand down due to work.

“We always promised ourselves we would work together in football again one day and I’m delighted that is happening here at Huntingdon.

“Paul is an exceptional coach with a really good personality which I know the boys will love on the training pitch this season.”

Like Warby and Forrest, Crosbie also holds the UEFA B coaching qualification. Trevor Nightingill (coach) and Martyn Butterfield (goalkeeping coach) also form part of a five-man managerial structure as Town bid to make the most of their relegation reprieve.

The club finished bottom of the United Counties League Premier Division after collecting just eight points during a torrid 2015/16 campaign which saw three managerial changes.

But they were spared the drop due to champions AFC Kempston Rovers being promoted and Northampton Spencer folding.

Town have toasted a new partnership with Huntingdonshire Regional College.

The deal will see the college name and logo adorn Town’s new home kit, warm-up tops, tracksuits and polo shirts as well as appearing on four pitchside banners at Jubilee Park.

But Warby stressed it is very much a two-way agreement which he hopes will benefit both parties.

He added: “We are very proud to be teaming up with Huntingdonshire Regional College (HRC).

“It is very important that we work together with local businesses and this support will be invaluable as we attempt to rebuild the club.

“But we will also be offering support to HRC students with things such as sports science, grounds maintenance, business development and other opportunities that fit in with their curriculum.”
