Sophie Etheridge enjoyed a terrific East Region Disability Championships debut last weekend.
The 26 year-old Huntingdon BRJ Run & Tri member won the wheelchair slalom event during her first-ever track meet.
Etheridge, who moved to Huntingdon in 2015, also finished fourth in her 100m and 200m races.
She suffers with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) as a result of being involved in an accident with a car while cycling in 2012. Etheridge was studying at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge at the time.
Etheridge had to borrow a racing wheelchair to compete last weekend, but is fundraising to have one custom built for herself in the future.
She is also a powerful swimmer and will take part in the Thames Marathon Swim (a 14km event she will aim to complete despite being unable to kick her legs due to her disability) and a full triathlon (at the Super Hero Tri Series) this year.
