A bunch of budding Hunts talents enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be coached by women’s cricket great Charlotte Edwards.

The England captain dropped in to One Leisure in Sawtry last week to pass on batting and bowling tips to Year 7 and 8 girls from Sawtry Village Academy, and members of the Hunts Under 11 county girls' squad.

Edwards, who grew up in Pidley, and started her glorious career with Ramsey CC, visited as part of the Chance to Shine programme which encourages increased participation in cricket in schools.

Hunts Cricket Board official Kevin Clement said: "As always Charlotte was a tremendous ambassador for cricket and Chance to Shine, and thrilled the girls by autographing many of their bats afterwards."

Edwards has captained the England Women's team on more than 200 occasions during a 10-year reign. The opening bat has presided over three Ashes series wins along with World Cup and World Twenty/20 triumphs.
