EXCELLENT fishing was enjoyed by the 12 anglers who weighed in an average of 25lb each. It was a fine debut on the lake for Fox Match Stanjay's Paul Hendy who drew peg 13 and caught a total of 49lb 12oz. Hendy hooked and landed a 15 lb carp in the last half hour which added to his 33lb of bream putting him just ahead of Steve Ashwell. With seven anglers weighing in over 30 lbs, every fish counted in the hunt for points in the qualifying series.

HOTRODS Andy Leathers from St Neots had mixed fortunes in Sunday's qualifier at Cross Drove. It was definitely lucky peg 13 he drew to win the match but not as lucky when 11 metres of his pole disappeared across the lake and failed to resurface.
