MORE than 150 people descended on the St Ivo Outdoor Centre in St Ives for the annual Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Festival.
The event, organised by Huntingdonshire District Council, saw disabled people of all ages take part in 12 different sporting activities including archery and tag rugby. There was also a boat display, prize draw and raffle to raise money for the Huntingdonshire Disability Sports Forum.
Festival co-ordinator Ryan Armes said: "Once again this event has proved to be a resounding success and its popularity demonstrates the importance of raising the profile of disability sport. Our thanks go to Hunts Howzat Cricket Club, St Ivo Outdoor Centre, Grafham Water Sailability and all of the volunteers that helped make the event such a success."
An indoor Disability Sports Festival will be held on Sunday,
October 8, at St Ivo Leisure Centre while there are still places available on some summer disability sports courses. For further information contact Ryan Armes on 01480 387098 or email ryan.armes@huntsdc.gov.uk
