Defending champions Warboys White Hart are closing in on another national crown.
The local bowlers booked their place in the final of the Durham Centenary Trophy after sealing Southern section success recently.
The White Hart side, who represent Hunts, beat Peterborough outfit Parkway of Northants 98-72 with emphatic victories on two of the four rinks proving decisive overall.
The trio of Phil Swannell, Simon Leader and Ed Elmore triumphed 26-10 while Nicky Brett’s rink, also featuring his daughter Chloe and Richard Stevens, won 29-14.
Ross Martin, Joe Randall and Rob Emlore were pipped 24-22 in their clash while Steve Farrant, Tom Swannell and Lewis Baker went down by three shots, 24-21.
White Hart previously saw off Suffolk side Ipswich BC 89-86 at the Southern semi-final stage after receiving a walkover against Norfolk team Wooton Park in the opening round.
They will now meet Durham representatives Jarrow Borough at the English Bowling Federation Finals at Skegness on Saturday, August 18. White Hart also saw off Durham opposition in the form of Simonside to lift the trophy last summer.
The Hunts Under 25 ‘A’ team will also bid for glory at Skegness on August 18 in the Reg Wright Trophy final.
The locals dominated the Southern section and now meet Northern top dogs Nottinghamshire to battle for overall victory.
