Sam Trotter continued his fine run of podium finishes in the Eastern Region Mud Sweat and Gears League last Sunday.
Trotter took second spot in the Youth Male category at the seventh round of the series, which was staged at the Radical Bikes venue, near Chelmsford.
It was the fifth this year that Trotter has recorded a top-three finish in an ultra-competitive category.
He was one of four St Ives Cycling Club members in action in the penultimate event of the season.
Clubmate Sapphire Curtis also climbed onto the podium as she finished second in the Juvenile Girls category, while Orla Kenna just missed out on the rostrum when fourth in the Under 12 Girls section.
The other St Ives CC representative, Ruby O’Dell, took seventh spot in the Under 9 Girls bracket.
The series concludes at the Langdon Hills track, near Basildon, on September 17.
