Michael Cafferkeys men saw their penultimate Whiting & Partners Division One fixture of the summer at home to Nassington - abandoned. The visitors managed 134-2 in a contest reduced to 25 overs per side at Cricketfield Lane, but Ramseys reply lasted just two balls before a halt was called. That outcome means they cant now catch leaders Ketton, who were crowned champions at this level for the first time by beating rock-bottom St Ives in another rain-affected contest. Tom McCarthy (41) and Jason Coe (40) were the only batsmen to have any joy as St Ives were dismissed for 136 before Ketton reached their revised target of 98 from 36 overs to complete a six-wicket win. Young talent Olly Jefferies continued his emergence with a fine first-team debut for Eaton Socon. The 13 year-old spinner bagged 4-34, but his side still slipped to a 78-run defeat. Jefferies exploits helped remove the visitors for 138, but Eaton Socon could manage only a miserable 60 in reply. Only opener Jamie Vale (13) and tail-ender Adam Newman (10) reached double-figures with the bat as visiting bowler Parth Patel helped himself to 8-10. Tariq Aziz and Paul Swannell hit half-centuries as Godmanchester Town were beaten by Saffron Walden. Aziz (62), Swannell (60no) and captain Matthew Durrant (39) all contributed well as the locals reached 205-5 at The Parks. But Saffron Walden had no trouble in hitting a revised target of 163 with almost eight overs to spare after a rain delay to complete a seven-wicket win. Waresley saw off Histon for the second successive Saturday, dismissing their visitors for 92 after amassing 171-9 themselves. Kimbolton will be playing top flight cricket next summer after some brilliant bowling from Chris Gilthorpe helped them clinch promotion in Whiting & Partners Division Two. Gilthorpe bagged 6-28 as his side saw off Burwell 2nds who featured several first-teamers from their East Anglian Premier League side - in their penultimate fixture. Burwell 2nds were dismissed for 105 before runners-up Kimbolton reached a revised target of 76 with six wickets in hand. Huntingdon & District were beaten by table-toppers Sawston & Babraham, whose success at St Peters Road sealed their rise. The leaders triumphed by eight wickets when reaching a reduced target of 124 after Huntingdon & District were dismissed for 168. Jahanzaib Khan was responsible for almost half of their runs thanks to a smart 75. Bottom side Warboys conceded their trip to Ufford Park the third time this season they have been unable to fulfil a fixture.CAMBS & HUNTS PREMIER LEAGUE Whiting & Partners Division OneEATON SOCON lost to WISBECH by 78 runs Wisbech 138 (O.
