Smith hit 124 when starring in a 215-run opening stand with Jordon Cafferkey (97) as Ramsey triumphed at struggling March in Whiting & Partners Division One.

The second-placed side piled up 288-4 before removing their hosts for 184 to seal a 104-run victory.

Smith also impressed with the ball as he took 4-24 to rip through the March lower order.

But fellow locals Godmanchester Town were unable to Ramsey a favour as they went down to leaders Ketton in a low-scoring clash.

The table-toppers triumphed at The Parks by five wickets as they eased past Godmanchester's offering of 100 despite the best efforts of Elliot Baldwin, who bagged 4-13 from nine excellent overs.

Adam Cousins (30) top-scored as Godmanchester were dismissed in just 28.1 overs. Only two other players – opener Amit Gupta and Muhammad Raheel – reached double-figures.

Another centurion ended up on the losing side yesterday.

Eaton Socon skipper Jonny Carpenter was responsible for than half of his side's total runs with an unbeaten 101, but it wasn't enough to prevent a three-wicket defeat at Saffron Walden.

Carpenter, who struck nine fours and two sixes, helped his side reached 190-6 in an innings reduced to 42 overs due to rain, but it was eclipsed by the hosts with six-and-a-half overs to spare.

Waresley made short work of beating bottom side St Ives by 10 wkts.

Young talent Josh Smith (61no) and Aussie ace Jack Anglberger (50no) eased their side to a modest target of 117 with the minimum of fuss.

Smith was one of two Waresley bowlers to claim three wickets as St Ives found it tough going with the bat. Michael Ninneman matched that feat.

Kimbolton remain in pole position in Whiting & Partners Division Two after snatching victory in a top-versus-bottom clash at Warboys.

James Biddle's side prevailed by two wickets and with two balls to spare as they eclipsed their hosts' posting of 173.

South African ace Jason Redinger delivered another stellar display when batting throughout Kimbolton's successful chase to finish unbeaten on 83.

He wasn't the only half-centurion on show as Warboys man Chris Whitfield hit 51 for his side.

Huntingdon & District went down by 78 runs at Burwell 2nds when dismissed for 172 while chasing 250.
