WITH only a month of the cricket season remaining, DAVE WOODS takes a look at the prospects of Huntingdonshire's cricket sides.

In the East Anglian Premier League, Godmanchester are one of five clubs who will be looking to secure the runners-up slot behind runaway leaders Sawdeston - Godmanchester lie third, six points behind second-placed Clacton.

Tucker One has Ramsey sitting in mid-table whilst Godmanchester II are anchored to the foot of the table after not having won all season.

In Tucker Two, Bluntisham and Kimbolton are lying at the foot of the table well adrift of the rest, while Eaton Socon are set for a mid-table finish while Waresley sit second with chances of the title.

In 3A, St Ives III and Somersham II languish at the bottom of the table, but Fenstanton are looking to a mid-table finish to retain their status.

Cambourne are charging away with 3B, and in 4A Abbots Ripton are waiting to pounce in second spot. Also in 4A, Bluntisham II are struggling but not as much as St Ives IV who sit at the foot of the table.

Elsworth II are comfortable in 4B and Cambourne II sit second in 5A with Needingworth II in the chasing pack.

In the Hunts Leagues it has been a poor season generally in Division One for Hunts' sides. Ramsey II are doomed at the foot of the table and Alconbury sit just above them. Sawtry, Dean, Upwood and Huntingdon sit in mid-table but the latter can be pleased with the club's advances this season.

In Division Two, Houghton & Wyton are down and almost out, while Buckden and Warboys are just above them - Godmanchester III and Waresley II have had a mediocre season to date and sit safely in the pack.

Division Three makes for better reading with Eaton Socon II and Kimbolton II in second and third respectively and Upwood II more than holding their own.

Buckden II and Hilton sit at the foot of Division Four with Sawtry II, Eaton Socon III and Warboys II comfortable, but Alconbury II must be regretting their 60-point penalty as they sit just 44 points behind the league leaders.

In Division Five, Great Staughton are close to putting the icing on the cake as they sit on top of the league, but Huntingdon II are at the wrong end with Upwood II and Sawtry II just ahead.

Ramsey III and Hinchinbrooke/Brampton are chasing Staughton but the runners-up slot looks more realistic.

In Rutland One, Godmanchester sit in mid-table but in Division Four, Eaton Socon are just clear of the bottom two. Godmanchester II are in the mix at the top end of Five and Eaton Socon II lead the way in Seven.
