Upwood were the big winners last weekend when the vast majority of local action was washed out by weather.
The villagers boosted their promotion bid in Division Three of the Hunts League thanks to a seven-wicket demolition job on lowly Burghley Park 2nds.
They needed only 17.2 overs in which to skittle the visitors for 54 with Hayder Ali (4-25) and Adam Dean (3-1) excelling before they eased past that modest tally with little alarm to climb to within seven points of the top two.
The only other fixtures to be completed all ended in defeat for the local side involved – and Upwood also feature on that list.
Their Sunday side didn’t fare anywhere near as well as the Saturday team when being beaten by 203 runs at Division Five title-chasers Sheikh XI.
