Pringle, who played in 30 Test matches and 44 one-day internationals, entertained guests at the Wood Green Animal Centre bash earlier this month.

He was also on hand to dish out the accolades following a year in which the Hunts Under 15 girls team took centre stage. They won their regional 20/20 competition during an undefeated campaign.

The county Under 25 side were praised for a mid-table finish in the East of England Development Competition despite regularly fielding a host of Under 17 players in their side.

Recipients of the local Natwest Outstand Service to Cricket Awards (known as the OSCAS) were Mark Webster (umpires and scorers), Neil Tuffin (Upwood CC - clubman), Reece Sibley (young volunteer), Ian Musk (NatWest Cricket Force) and Tony Cook (Buckden CC - lifetime achiever).

Newcomer of the Year awards went to Lucy Barrett of Warelesey (for the south of the county) and Jairus Charles of Peterborough club Orton Park (for the northern section).

Louise Beavis (Little Paxton) and Ben Saunders (Ramsey) were winners of the Most Promising Player prizes for south and north respectively.

The County Youth Player of the Year accolade went to Kaushicaa Vaseeharan of Orton Park, while the Gary Whitbread Memorial Trophy – which honours lifetime playing achievement – was received by Bob Milne. The Peterborough-based veteran represented the England Over 50s team in South Africa earlier this year.

The David Holmes Award - an accolade to recognise excellent volunteering – was awarded to the donor of the trophy.

Holmes is a founder member of the existing county board which he has served with distinction for 25 years.
