Seventeen year-old Adelaide Walkling, a capable batter and seam bowler from Eaton Socon, has taken up the offer of a place with Loughborough Lightning. And fellow all-rounder Katherine Speed, a 16 year-old from Houghton, has got the nod from Surrey Stars. Walkling and Speed will have regular training sessions with those clubs ahead of the new season. They were both part of the Hunts Emerging Player Programme in the past and Dave Summers, who managed the county scheme, said: It is fantastic for both girls and indeed Huntingdonshire. Adelaide and Katherine have both worked very hard at their game and we wish them all the best for the future. Regional development centres are run by all Womens Super League teams. The aim is to provide additional elite training for players deemed to have the potential to be selected for the England Womens Academy programme in the future.
