St Ives collected their first Cambs & Hunts Premier League triumph of the summer today – and it was enough to lift them off the bottom of Whiting & Partners Division One.

Ricky Greiller's men snapped a five-match losing sequence at the start of their top-flight return with a 111-run triumph at Histon.

There were impressive performances with bat and ball as Tom McCarthy hit 83 to help St Ives to 236 before Nat Edwards bagged 4-13 from six-and-a-half fine overs.

Nikhil Kumpukkal also made a couple of important contributions as he followed up a valuable 45 with 3-19.

St Ives' reward was a rise from the foot of the standings. They leapfrogged March Town - the team they followed up from Division Two last season.

Jordon Cafferkey hit a brilliant, boundary-laden century as Ramsey saw off Saffron Walden in a Cricketfield Lane run-fest.

Cafferkey cracked a dozen fours and six sixes in a big-hitting 123, compiled from just 114 balls, as Ramsey piled up a mighty 301-5 to prevail by 12 runs.

Fellow opener Ryan Smith hit a first half-century for the club with 53, while Elliot Cafferkey (38no) and Isaac Love (35no) added speedy knocks at the end of the innings.

A quick finish looked on the cards when Ramsey reduced the visitors to 72-5, but Saffron Walden weren't about to go quietly.

A couple of sizable partnerships involving centurion Joe Barrs dragged them back into contention before Ramsey closed out victory from the opening ball of the final over.

Mark Edwards was the pick of the Ramsey bowlers with 3-42 before also featuring in the game-closing run-out.

Runs were also in plentiful supply at Wisbech where the title-chasing hosts proved to be just too strong for Godmanchester Town.

Opener Tariq batted throughout the locals' innings when hitting an unbeaten 114 and skipper Matt Durrant contributed a handy 60 to help his side post 233-6.

But that effort was eclipsed by Wisbech with eight balls to spare and two wickets in hand despite Godmanchester's overseas spinner, Nadeem Nazar, taking 4-36.

Waresley suffered a fourth successive defeat when going down to reigning champions Foxton in another match which reached a conclusion in the last over.

Aussie ace Michael Ninneman top-scored with 64 and Alex Scully continued his fine form with 56 as Waresley posted an imposing 233-8.

But the hosts surpassed it with three balls to spare despite Gary Cole taking 3-40.

Eaton Socon were beaten by four wickets at table-toppers Ketton despite a half-century from South African import Dale van der Merwe.

His knock of 58, and 35 from skipper Jonny Carpenter, helped the locals to 193-8, but it didn't prove to be enough.

Joe Watling (3-53) claimed early wickets, but an unbeaten century from Ketton man Zeeshan Manzoor guided the leaders to victory.
