A brilliant bowling performance from Jon Cade helped title hopefuls Ramsey continue their Cambs & Hunts Premier League hot streak yesterday.

The local side have now won their last 11 completed Whiting & Partners Division One fixtures after seeing off Nassington by five wickets.

And Cade did the majority of the damage with the ball as he swooped for a second six-wicket haul of his career at this level.

The seamer's 6-35 return, which matched that achieved in a game against Foxton/Babraham JV just over three years ago, helped remove Nassington for just 94.

Taylor West also continued his impressive form with the ball by taking 3-28 before an unbeaten 42 from skipper Michael Cafferkey ensured Ramsey passed their target with relative comfort.

They remain 14 points behind leaders Ketton with two matches to go - and their title bid certainly didn't receive any assistance from St Ives yesterday.

The already-relegated bottom side could only field a seven-man team for a trip to Ketton with many players attending the T20 Blast Finals.

And they were quickly seen off in a contest completed in little more than an hour, being dismissed for just 39.

Richard Wells (23no) provided more than half of the runs in an innings that lasted 12.1 overs. Ketton then needed just four overs to breeze past the paltry target.

Godmanchester Town couldn't manage a full compliment of players either for a 100-run reverse at Saffron Walden.

Opener Tariq Aziz (44) and Paul Swannell (30) did best with the bat as the 10-man locals were dismissed for 168 in pursuit of their hosts' offering of 268-3.

Captain Jon Carpenter produced a match-winning innings as Eaton Socon collected a fine success.

Carpenter carried his bat for an unbeaten 81 as his side triumphed by five wickets at third-placed Wisbech.

Michael Ninneman was the stand-out performer with bat and ball as Waresley won at Histon by 131 runs.

The Australian ace top scored with 81 as his side amassed 286-8 and then bagged 4-31 as the hosts were sent packing for 155.

Waresley were set on their way to victory by a 119-run opening stand from Nick Taylor (73) and Jack Anglberger (57). Josh Smith (3-44) also impressed with the ball.
