Darren Fordham thumped the biggest score of his career to fire Bluntisham to the Cambs Junior League summit.

Fordham hit 134 off just 99 balls as the new leaders claimed a 63-run triumph against Littleport Town in Division One North last Saturday.

Fordham's power-packed innings (which featured 17 fours and three sixes) and a half-century from Steve Dighton (58) helped the locals to 273-5 before they restricted Littleport to 210-7 in reply. Howard Mathson bagged 3-31.

There was double-cause for celebration as Bluntisham 2nds sampled success on the field for the first time in 2017.

Will Ellis produced an unbeaten 56 to guide his side to a three-wicket win at Cherry Hinton 2nds in Division Five North as they crept past a home posting of 147-7. Bluntisham 2nds' two previous victories this summer had come in conceded matches.

Captain Jonny Perring hit an unbeaten 50 as St Ives 2nds breezed to a nine-wicket success against Leverington in Division Two North, while Abbots Ripton returned to winning ways in Division Four North.

Ricky Masters' (37no) steered the villagers to a five-wicket success after they dismissed Isleham 2nds for 153.

James Baldock hit 40 and Mo Khurshid claimed 3-29 as Needingworth 2nds went down by four wickets to Cambridge NCI 4ths at that level, while St Ives 3rds came up 142 runs short at Longstanton Grasshoppers. The locals reached 200-5 in reply to a huge 342-2 from their hosts.

A three-match winning streak came to an end for Yelling in Division One South.

Jack Crawley's smart 75 was not enough to prevent a four-wicket defeat at the hands of Audley End & Littlebury as Yelling saw their tally of 169-9 eclipsed.

Needingworth were on the receiving end of a heavy Cambs Senior League defeat.

The locals crashed by 196 runs at Thriplow when being skittled for 119 in pursuit of a monster effort of 315-6 from the hosts.

Captain Dan Sherlock (53) and Lee Smith (41) were the only Needingworth batsmen to reach double-figures on a day when five players were dismissed for ducks.
