The 14-year-old Longsands Academy pupil was boosted by the non-appearance through injury of top seed and Commonwealth Games silver medallist Tin-Tin Ho. She would have been likely to meet Ho at the quarter-final stage but took advantage of her absence to reach the final. Boston was eventually beaten by second seed Letitia McMullan of Fareham in the showpiece match. She found her 16-year-old opponent in top form as she lost 3-0 (7-11, 2-11, 8-11). I had a good day, tried my best and put a lot of effort into it.
